Applying for a parking card for people with disabilities and tax exemption
Parking card for people with disabilities replaced the disabled parking permit as of 1 June 2020. Disabled parking permits issued before 1 June 2020 remain valid until their original expiry date. A Parking card for people with disabilites is personal to the holder.
You can use this service to apply for a new parking card or an extension of the validity of an expiring disabled parking permit or parking card for people with disabilities for yourself. To use online services, you will need your personal online bank user identifiers or a mobile certificate.
If you need a new parking card to replace a lost permit or parking card or for other reasons, you must submit your application to Ajovarma.
A Parking card for people with disabilities may be issued if the relevant conditions are met based on a medical certificate. You can use the same application to apply for exemption from the basic component of vehicle tax. The card may be used in a vehicle in which the holder is either a driver or a passenger. The parking card is valid in all EU countries.
You can apply for a new parking permit or renew an existing permit in Traficom’s e-services. To use the services, you will need your personal online bank user identifiers or a mobile certificate.
If you need a duplicate of your parking permit for example to replace a lost one or permit has been damaged or stolen, you must submit your application to Ajovarma. Person can have only one permit at a time.
How to apply Parking card for people with disabilities via Traficom’s e-Services or Ajovarma
Using this service, you can submit your application for a Parking card for people with disabilities (EUR 20). Alternatively, you can submit your application at an Ajovarma service point (EUR 20).
When applying for a parking card at Ajovarma, people with disabilities do not have to submit their applications and possible medical certificates in person. Instead, someone else can deliver the documents for them. The application fee must be paid when the application is submitted.
When applying for a parking card, you can also apply for exemption from the basic component of vehicle tax. Please provide, either in the application or the online service, the taxpayer’s personal identity code and the registration number of the vehicle for which the exemption is being sought. You can apply for the exemption at the same time as applying for a new parking card for people with disabilities or renewing your parking card or permit, but not when applying for a duplicate. The validity period of the exemption is linked to that of the parking card.

The parking card will be delivered by post to your home within about 6 weekdays of the date when the application was submitted, provided that the relevant conditions are met. If your online application is incomplete, an Ajovarma customer service agent will contact you.
Health care institutions can be issued parking card for transporting customers. They are issued by Ajovarma for employees of health care institutions. Parking cards cannot be issued to the company itself. The application must include a free-form description of the nature of the institution’s activities and its need for a parking card. Cards for health care institution employees are always issued for a fixed period of 5 years.
