Notification and cancellation of person in charge of use

A company must register a person in charge of use in the Transport Register if there is no natural person registered as the holder of the company car.

The person in charge of use must be an adult resident in Finland who has knowledge of the people driving the vehicle or is the principal operator of the vehicle without being its owner or holder. The person in charge of use must have at least a category B right to drive.

The information on the person in charge of use is required for automated traffic monitoring. The traffic penalty fee is imposed on the owner, holder, temporary user or person in charge of use entered in the register. The traffic penalty fee is imposed on the person in charge of use for company-owned cars with no natural person entered in the register as the holder.

Notifications of persons in charge of use are made on a company-specific basis. There can only be one person in charge of use for each business ID. Any new notification of a person in charge of use replaces any earlier notification.

There is no need to give notification of a person in charge of use for a private trader.

Notification and cancellation

An individual recorded as a person in charge of use can register himself or herself as such using the B132 form. The person giving notification must have the company name and business ID.

An individual registered as a person in charge of use can remove himself or herself from the role using the same form.

Persons in charge of use may also be registered or removed by a person who has been authorised to represent the company in question or granted the "Maintenance of transport operator data and permits" mandate.
