Winter tyres

• Winter tyres must be used from the beginning of November to the end of March if required by the weather or road conditions. At the same time, the winter tyre requirements of tractors and category L vehicles have also been revised.
• Studded tyres may be used from the beginning of November to the end of March and at other times if required by the weather or road conditions.

Tyre tread

• The tread depth of the principal grooves of the tyres of motor vehicles and trailers towed by motor vehicles may not be less than 1.6 mm. The minimum depth also applies to vehicles other than cars and their trailers.
• However, the tread depth of the principal grooves of the tyres of motorcycles and motorcycle trailers must be at least 1.0 mm. 
• The above requirements do not apply to vehicles with a maximum permitted speed of less than 40 km/h.
