Accessibility statement for Data.Traficom Maps

The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom strives to guarantee the accessibility of its service in compliance with the Finnish Act on the provision of digital services 306/2019.

This accessibility statement applies to the website kartat-tieto.traficom.fi (Data.Traficom maps).

Website accessibility status

This website partly meets the AA requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 criteria. Please see below for a list of non-conformities and exceptions applicable to the criteria.

Non-accessible content

The content below is non-accessible for the specified reasons:

A. Non-compliance with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019)

General

  • No focus visible for a passive field. (WCAG 2.4.7)
  • The text equivalent of the logo link does not contain information about the target of the link (WCAG 2.4.4).
  • Not all headings are programmatically marked as headings (WCAG 1.3.1).
  • Nested lists are not programmatically marked correctly on the sitemap page. Title–value pairs are not presented programmatically. (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • The website includes links that have not been programmatically determined as links. (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • The interactive functionality of the tables is not transmitted to the screen reader user (WCAG 1.1.1, 4.1.2).
  • When using the keyboard, the focus goes to hidden items in the Select area group (WCAG 2.4.3).
  • The loading of the page is not reported via a screen reader (WCAG 1.1.1, 4.1.3).

Forms

  • Options on the site move the focus elsewhere (WCAG 2.4.3).
  • There are deficiencies in the programmatic implementations of form elements, for example in combo boxes (WCAG 1.3.1, 4.1.2).

Mobile interface

  • There are deficiencies in the programmatic implementation of the mobile menu (WCAG 4.1.2).
  • Focus does not always move to the opening content (WCAG 2.4.3).
  • The close button is not programmatically a button (WCAG 4.1.2).

Embedded maps

  • Embedded maps contain essential information that is not available elsewhere in an accessible format. (WCAG 1.1.1)

applicable legislation does not cover the content in question

  • The website includes embedded maps that have not been made accessible because the applicable legislation (Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019)) does not cover map services.

This statement was prepared on 26 September 2023.

The statement is based on an assessment of whether or not the website meets the requirements of the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019) (External link)(available in Finnish and Swedish). The assessment was carried out by a third-party expert organisation (Eficode Oy).
