Additional registration plate
You can apply for an additional registration plate for your vehicle if the original registration plate is covered by temporary equipment attached to the vehicle, such as a bike rack, for instance. You can order an additional plate via any inspection station offering registration services.
As the owner or holder of the vehicle, you can order an additional registration plate via any inspection station offering registration services. Once ready, the plate can be picked up from the inspection station that placed the order.
The existence of the additional plate will be recorded in the Transport Register. You cannot use an additional registration plate on your vehicle if it has not been recorded in the Transport Register. Once the existence of the additional plate has been recorded in the vehicle’s information, you can use the temporary plate on your vehicle for up to one month.
Returning an additional registration plate
Return the additional registration plate to the inspection station once you no longer need it. The record of the additional plate will remain in the Transport Register until it is returned.
