Order a vehicle registration certificate
With this service, you can order both parts (technical part and notification part) or only the technical part of a new registration certificate for your vehicle. You will need the technical part when you travel abroad or to the Åland Islands with the vehicle. You will need the full certificate if you are selling the vehicle for registration abroad or in Åland. Please note that some of Traficom’s e-services and PDF forms are only available in Finnish and Swedish.
These days, you rarely need a registration certificate. You need the technical part (Part I) when you travel abroad or to Åland with the vehicle. You are not required to carry the technical part in your vehicle when travelling in mainland Finland.
You will need both parts of the registration certificate if you sell your vehicle to a person who will take it abroad or to Åland for registration.
You do not need the notification part (Part II) for filing a registration notification. You can change the information of a vehicle you own using the e-services based on electronic identification or at a registration office. When selling your vehicle, you can provide the buyer with a digital certificate created using the e-services instead of the notification part (digital certificates are free of charge).

Select whether you would like to order the technical part or full certificate
As the owner of a vehicle, you can order either the technical part or the whole certificate. As the holder of a vehicle, you can only order the technical part.
Pay for the order and return to the service
Pay for the order (an order for the technical part is free of charge) and return to the service after payment to receive a receipt. You will receive the registration certificate by post within a week or so.
