5G Innovation Award searches for excellence in Finland
The 5G Momentum ecosystem promotes Finnish leadership in 5G through networks, cooperation – and positive competition. The 5G Innovation Award, launched today, aims at making 5G expertise and services development in Finland visible both within Finland and internationally in order to accelerate services and business development.
The first prize will go to the 5G phenomenon of the year, which can be, for example, a new kind of service or 5G-based significant value added to an existing service or product. In addition, two organisations will be awarded for making 5G visible nationally and/or internationally and for showing considerable creativity in 5G development.
Judging criteria:
- innovative implementation and creativity
- potential for exploitation and scope of target audience
- scalability and business potential
- societal impact
- environmental friendliness/carbon neutrality.
The winners will be announced in March 2020.
The jury panel consists of members of the 5G Momentum project, composed of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency and the Finnish Meteorological Institute, together with representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
