European aviation experts meet in Helsinki to discuss the safety and future of air transport

European aviation safety experts will meet in Helsinki at the annual civil aviation safety conference organised by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency EASA. This year’s conference will focus on operational safety in commercial air transport.

The EASA Annual Safety Conference is organised in Helsinki 4–5 November 2019. The conference will cover themes ranging from challenges in winter operations to digitalisation and safety management in aviation. The conference is jointly organised by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom and EASA, and it is one of the events organised in the framework of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

“Our aim is to define the principles of ensuring the safety and sustainability of flight operations in an increasingly challenging environment. I consider seamless cooperation and trust to be the cornerstones of ambitious efforts to improve flight safety at all levels,” says Director General of Civil Aviation Pekka Henttu, who will co-host the conference with the EASA Executive Director.
