The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom is announcing the opening of applications for emergency support for the promotion of journalism. The aid is intended for media outlets operating in Finland whose media sales and revenue have decreased significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic. The deadline for applications is 17 November 2020.
Traficom shall make decisions concerning the aid by the end of 2020. Aid will be granted to cover wages for people performing journalistic work and freelancer fees for all eligible media outlets that have submitted applications. The prerequisite for receiving the aid is a significant decrease in media sales and revenue due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The aid applications must arrive at the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency no later than Tuesday 17 November 2020 at 11.59 pm.
We recommend sending your application as soon as you have completed it to help prevent congestion in processing the applications. You may add to your application even after the end of the application period, if necessary.

You may also submit a free-form application, which must contain the same information as the Word form along with the appendices.

Any submitted information considered confidential in accordance with the Act on the Openness of Government Activities by the applicant should be marked clearly on the application.
