Sectors
Driver and Vehicle Services is tasked with administrative duties related to the type-approval and market supervision, inspection, registration and taxation of vehicles. In addition, the sector includes administrative and support tasks related to the acquisition, use and restructuring of vehicles.
The sector is also responsible for administrative and supportive tasks related to driving licences and examinations, professional transport and transport licences, as well as the organisation, implementation, supervision and development of customer service for Driver and Vehicle Services.

Transport Safety and Services sector is tasked with duties related to maritime, boating, hydrography, fairways, aviation, railway transport and road infrastructure.

Sector responsibilities:
Spectrum management
- Frequency planning at national and international level, radio licences, amateur qualifications, spectrum monitoring and supervision. Programming licences for television and radio, as well as licenses and supervision of ground station operations.
Digital infrastructure and communications markets
- Tasks related to communications networks, mobile network frequency issues and telecommunications standardisation, and technical control of telecommunications networks. Supervising of functioning communications services and markets.
Supervision of digital services and devices
- Maintenance of fi domains and .fi land root. Supervision of digital devices and services, including accessibility and media surveillance and surveillance of radio equipment.
Information Production
- Production of transport and communications statistics, statistical analyses and market monitoring, as well as data acquisition. Tasks related to information production systems and information disclosure.
Transport system
- Tasks related to the development of the transport system and sustainable mobility. The digitalisation of transport and logistics and the development of a national transport forecasting model.
In addition, the sector is responsible for the transport development tasks specifically designated by the Director-General.
The administration is responsible for the agency's personnel, finances and premises administration services, staff development services and other general administrative services, as well as the tasks of planning, directing and monitoring operations.
Information Management is responsible for the functionality and development of the Agency's information systems and digital services, as well as ICT services.
Security and Privacy supports different parts of the organisation in the implementation of risk management, security, data protection and preparedness. It is responsible for the compliance of the agency's overall security and guides the agency's comprehensive risk management.
The Communication and Public Relations sector ensures that the Agency's communications and public relations work is effective and appropriate. It develops and coordinates the agency's public image and brand, as well as the agency's public relations work. Additionally, it provides the Agency's language and translation services.
Impact Networks
- is responsible for the preparation, implementation, impact assessment and strategic situational picture of the national implementation of data economy regulation. Central regulations include the Data Governance Act and Digital Services Act, Regulation on addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online and the Data Act.

- is responsible for the monitoring tasks of internet storage services and online platforms, user advice, and the tasks of the coordinator of digital services.

- is responsible for coordinating certain strategic development tasks related to digitalisation, such as the agency's cloud transition and the use of artificial intelligence

- is responsible for the strategic steering of the agency's EU and international engagement as well as coordinating its advocacy work. The network also produces wide-ranging information related to anticipating matters of the EU and international field of operation.

- Together with the sectors, the network develops the impact of the agency's EU and international work. In addition, it is responsible for developing the agency's advocacy expertise and developing external and internal cooperation related to EU and international engagement.
