Personalised registration numbers are also available for boats. A fee of EUR 300 will be charged for a personalised registration number after registration.
Send an e-mail to venepaatokset@traficom.fi . Include in the message your contact details and the registration numbers you are interested in. It is good idea to include several alternative numbers in your message.
The response message to your e-mail will tell you if the number is free and ask you if you wish to reserve it. When you reserve the number, you do not have to know which boat you will register it for.
When you reserve a personalised registration number, you will receive a confirmation of your reservation, which will be valid for three months. During this period, you must register a boat with the selected number, or your reservation will expire and the number will again be free.
When your boat has been registered, you can contact Traficom and request that your registration number be changed. E-mail the identifying details of your boat to venepaatokset@traficom.fi . For example, these details may include the boat’s hull number (the WIN code).
A written decision on the personalised registration number will be issued to you. If an old number remains attached to your boat, you can replace it as soon as you receive the decision on the personalised one.
The application is processed within 14 working days.
The registration certificate will be mailed to you in about two weeks.
