Apply for a radio licence and identification number for a PLB that becomes valid immediately
Here you can apply for a radio licence for a PLB (personal locator beacon). An identification number is attached to the licence. The number will be programmed into your device. The licence is device-specific. The annual frequency fee for a PLB is EUR 35.00.
You can identify yourself either by using your bank identifiers, chip-based identity card or mobile certificate. In order to act on behalf of a company you will also need a Suomi.fi e-Authorization. The frequency fee for the first period is charged in the service immediately. In the future, an invoice will be sent annually. After you have received the licence, send Traficom the name and contact details of the contact person(s) (1–2 persons) in emergency situations, and mention in form the radio licence number related to the emergency contact details. Submit the information using form Emergency contact information for PLB-license.
By applying for a licence through the e-service, the user accepts that the radio license is granted by automated decision-making.
