Historical boat

Historical boats are original boats finished before 1950 or unique imitations of them, mainly constructed using original materials. This means that the boat hull and deck shall be made of original materials and that the structure of the boat is similar to the original.

However, the use of modern methods such as plywood, modern glues, paints and fixation materials is allowed.

There must be documentation on the historical nature of the boat (photograph, drawings or other evidence). Please note that replicas made of reinforced plastic are not historical boats.

Historical boats do not require CE markings, and they need not be accompanied by declarations of conformity. However, the manufacturer must indicate the historical nature of the boat, for instance by using a sign.

In addition to the notification form, a supplementary data sheet must always be filled in for first registration. The first registration will not be carried out at an office of a service provider. It will be carried out exclusively at Traficom.

You can file the registration notification through e-services or send a signed register notification and its annexes to Traficom.
