Permanent deregistration of a watercraft
Permanent deregistration refers to removing a watercraft from the register, never to be re-registered again.
Do the following:
- Step 1
Check the documents
You must attach evidence of the watercraft being permanently destroyed or scrapped to your notification. An official scrapping point will give you a certificate of destruction. If you have destroyed the watercraft yourself, for example by burning it, you should provide a freely worded account of this.
The account should show by whom, where and when the watercraft has been scrapped or destroyed.
- Step 2
Submit the notification
Submit your freely worded notification of permanent deregistration either by e-mail to kirjaamo@traficom.fi or by mail to:
Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom
PO Box 320
00059 TRAFICOM
- Step 3
Approval of deregistration
The application is processed within 30 days. Once your application has been approved, you will receive a decision concerning it. A permanently deregistered watercraft can never be re-registered again.
