Submit a taxi transport operator’s notification

With a goods or passenger transport licence, you can also provide taxi transport services, as long as you submit a taxi transport operator's notification to Traficom.

Do the following:

    Submit a taxi transport operator’s notification

    You can submit a taxi transport operator’s notification online in My e-Services under the section road traffic transport licences.

    In matters related to transport operations, a natural person selects ‘Personal services’, while a legal person should choose ‘Acting on behalf of a company/an organisation’. This means that a natural person as an applicant or a licence holder always acts as an individual, not as a representative of their company operating under a business name. Only a person with the right to represent the transport company either with an authorisation or without a separate authorisation based on their role recorded in the Finnish Trade Register may act on behalf of a company in the service.

    A valid passenger or goods transport licence entitles the holder to taxi operations. The licence holder must, however, submit a taxi transport operator's notification to Traficom, and a statement by Traficom detailing the fact that the notification has been noted in the Transport Register must be carried in the vehicle during operation.

    A new operator entering the field can only submit the notification after the goods or passenger transport licence has been granted.

    The notification fee EUR 65 is paid in the service. The fee will not be returned even if the notification could not be entered into the register or the application is cancelled.

  • Step 2

    You will receive the decision by post

    You will receive the decision on being entered into the register within approximately 3 weeks of submitting the notification.

You can print out and fill in the licence application form and send it with possible accompanying documents to the following address: Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom), Transport licences, PO Box 320, FI-00059 TRAFICOM, Finland.

The notification fee of EUR 75 will be charged after the decision has been made. The fee will not be returned even if the notification could not be entered into the register or the application is cancelled.
