How to be safe in case of accident – Insurance
In this section, you will read about insurance – what types are suitable, what they cover and why you might want to take out an insurance policy.
According to the EU rules, every drone that weighs over 20 kilos must be insured. Even though insurance is not obligatory for most of the drones in the open category, it is a good idea to be insured in the event of an accident. If you are not the operator but only the remote pilot, it is a good idea to make sure you know if or how the drone you are going to fly is insured. Every operator is responsible to have its drones insured.
