Conversion examinations for aviation licences
To have your national licence converted into an EASA licence you have to demonstrate your knowledge of the relevant parts. Traficom, the Finnish aviation authority, checks the fulfilment of requirements with conversion examinations.
The scope and source material of examinations depend on the licence to be converted:
- Private pilot licence, PPL: 20 multiple-choice questions (source: Aircrew Regulation Ulkoinen verkkopalvelu.)
- Commercial pilot licence, CPL: 30 multiple-choice questions (sources: Aircrew Regulation Ulkoinen verkkopalvelu. and EU-OPS Ulkoinen verkkopalvelu.)
- Airline transport pilot licence, ATPL: 40 multiple-choice questions (sources: Aircrew Regulation Ulkoinen verkkopalvelu. and EU-OPS Ulkoinen verkkopalvelu.)
The maximum time allowed for a conversion examination is 2 hours. You will be provided with the source material at the examination.
