When you may receive a vehicle tax refund?
A refund can be issued if:
- the car is decommissioned or removed from the register
- the taxpayer changes
- the information marked on the register changes such that the vehicle becomes exempt from tax or the amount of tax due is reduced
- the taxpayer is exempt from vehicle tax.
You can save an account number in My e-Services, in which case any future tax refunds will be automatically paid to the account 12 months of the creation of the refund, unless the refund has already been allocated to one of your vehicles.
