Apply for an aircraft pilot licence, rating or certificate

Apply for an aircraft pilot licence or rating, re-issue of a licence, revalidation of a licence/rating, renewal of an expired licence/rating, a change of state of licence issue or licence verification.

Attachments required for the application

  • theoretical instruction certificate
  • flight instruction certificate
  • radiotelephony training certificate
  • certificate of completed language proficiency test, if
    • you are applying for a language proficiency endorsement in English, or
    • you are not a native Finnish speaker and you are applying for a language proficiency endorsement in Finnish
  • a copy of the log book’s last three pages if you are applying for a new LAPL, PPL, CPL, MPL or ATPL licence
  • a copy of your passport if you are not a Finnish citizen
  • a copy of your certificate of a theoretical knowledge examination arranged by the authorities if you have taken the examinations somewhere else.

 

You do not need to submit separate copies of medical certificates, proficiency check reports or certificates of theoretical knowledge examinations arranged by Traficom.

New class or type rating

  • Theoretical training certificate
  • Flight training certificate
  • Certificate of ZFTT or Landing Training, if required
  • MCC certificate, if the first MP type rating
  • AUPRT certificate, if the first MP type rating

Other New Rating

  • Training certificate(s)
  • If the rating involves experience requirements, a document proving this

New Instructor Rating

  • Theoretical training certificate
  • Flight training certificate
  • Document proving fulfillment of other requirements

New Examiner Authorization

  • Document of completed training (profiles)
  • Document proving fulfillment of requirements

  • Copy of license (front and back page)

  • Copy of license (front and back page)

  • refresher training certificate or a certificate stating that no refresher training has been provided
  • copy of license (front and back page)

 

You do not need to submit separate copies of medical certificates.

Applications are processed in the order of arrival. The licence will be delivered to you by mail. Please note the mail delivery times. To speed up processing, please send your application form and all the required attachments at the same time.

For security reasons we cannot download files from OneDrive, GoogleDrive or any other cloud service. Please send your files as email attachments and use common file formats, such as PDF, JPEG or TIFF.
